- A mixed sporting competition – much like with the choir, by joining a mixed sporting team you instantly avoid the awkwardness of saying ‘hi’ and instantly have something in common with the person you’re chatting to.
- A book shop – They’re a bit of a dying breed but if there’s a funky bookshop nearby with a cafe attached it’s a perfect place to meet someone. You instantly get an insight into their interests by checking what they’re reading.
- A rally – If you’re passionate about a cause, whether it be political or otherwise, a rally is somewhere it is perfectly normal to turn up by yourself and very easy to meet like minded people.
- A language class – taking up a new language both expands your horizons and gives you something to focus on so that, even if you don’t meet someone, you’re not walking away empty handed. That said, it’s a perfect opportunity to meet someone new and a bit of one on one vocal practice is the perfect excuse to meet up outside of class!
